About Jodi J. Callahan
Born in Massachusetts and into a family of talented artists, Jodi realized at a very young age that she too had the heart of an artist, sketching whenever and wherever she could.
Jodi graduated from Winchester High School in 1982 a "Senior Art Major". She went on to study advertising and graphic design at Boston’s New England School of Art and Design/Suffolk University, graduating in 1985. Jodi took a position as a graphic designer for eleven years in the art department of a prominant travel agency, and in 1996 made the decision to leave the field to raise her family.
In February of 2003 when her children were just six and four, Jodi was diagnosed with an invasive form of breast cancer. After having endured the effects of chemotherapy and multiple surgeries, Jodi is happy to say she is now cancer free and a proud survivor.
Jodi's experience with cancer, though trying at times, was also an awakening to what is really important. She discovered a new appreciation for even the subtle beauties in life and in all that surrounds her.
Jodi knew she needed to capture this beauty, she needed to return to her art- and for the first time had a strong desire to paint! Working in oils and watercolor she found her true passion. Painting to classical music, Jodi gets lost in her work, experiencing a sense of peace and truly living her dream.
